Overview

The scheme targets ST households domiciled in Bihar that have not benefited from Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana‑Gramin (PMAY‑G). It aims to improve living conditions through financial assistance for house construction and simultaneous development of basic civic amenities in tribal hamlets.

Components

• Housing top‑up grant: a fixed subsidy transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account to supplement self‑financed or PMAY‑G construction.
• Infrastructure works: construction of link roads, community centres, and other common facilities within the tribal village.

Implementation

Applications are processed at the Block Development Office (BDO) or District Welfare Office (DWO). After document verification and field inspection, approved cases receive the subsidy via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Infrastructure projects are executed by the Rural Works Department under the supervision of the District Tribal Welfare Officer.

Funding

Financed through the State Tribal Sub‑Plan budget; funds are released in tranches based on physical progress verified by block‑level officers.

1. Obtain the application form from the Block Development Officer (BDO) or District Welfare Officer (DWO).
2. Fill the form and attach required documents: ST certificate, residence proof, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, and, if applicable, PMAY‑G exclusion certificate.
3. Submit the completed application to the BDO/DWO office.
4. Undergo field verification by the designated officer.
5. Upon approval, receive the subsidy via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the linked bank account.
