The Government of Uttar Pradesh, through the Digishakti portal, implements a dual‑benefit programme. Higher‑education students receive a tablet or smartphone, while primary‑school pupils are granted a cash subsidy for essential educational apparel.

Device Distribution

Eligible students enrolled in regular degree, diploma or technical courses at recognised institutions receive a tablet (minimum 8 GB RAM) or a smartphone (minimum 4 GB RAM). The device is dispatched directly to the student’s registered address after verification by the college administration.

Uniform and Textbook Grant

Students studying in classes I‑VIII of government primary schools receive a direct benefit transfer (DBT) of Rs 1,200 to the parent’s bank account. The amount is intended for purchase of a uniform set, shoes, a school bag and a sweater.

Implementation Mechanism

All applications are processed through the Digishakti portal. For devices, colleges upload enrolment data; for the uniform grant, block education officers upload school‑level enrolment data, which triggers automatic DBT payments.

1. Student registers on the Digishakti portal using his/her enrolment number.
2. College administration verifies academic status and uploads the data.
3. For school children, block education officers upload class‑wise enrolment lists.
4. Upon verification, devices are dispatched and DBT payments are credited to the parent’s bank account.
